DJI, the largest drone manufacturer in the world, announced an all new drone that will be added to their Matrice Series of industrial drones. The all-new Matrice 200 series of drones feature the DJI Matrice 200, Matrice 210 and the Matrice 210 RTK. The M200 series of drones builds on the Inspire 2 platform, it features the same flight controller, obstacle avoidance, FPV camera and redundant battery system. It also adds a more rugged and powerful design than anything DJI has build previously , as evidenced by the weather sealing, more powerful motors and a max flight time of 38 minutes (with two TB55 batteries and no payload).
DJI Matrice 200
The DJI Matrice 200 drone features a folding body that is easy to carry and quick to setup, this is accomplished via the specifically designed travel case the can carry all the necessary parts needed for flight.
The weather and water resistant body, rated at IP43, allows for flight during rainy and windy conditions.
With the dual battery system, either the TB50 or TB55 batteries, the Matrice 200 series can reach a maximum flight time of 38 minutes (TB55 and no payload). The Matrice 200 series is compatible with four different payloads; the Zenmuse X4S, Zenmuse X5S, Zenmuse Z30 and Zenmuse XT aerial gimbals. (the Zenmuse XT requires a special adapter to mount to the M200).
The Matrice 200 series of drones also features DJI’s AirSense system that enhances airspace safety. The DJI AirSense system includes a built-in ADS-B receiver which provides the pilot with real-time information about nearby manned aircraft equipped with ADS-B transmitters. AirSense provides the pilot with a more efficient and safer use of the airspace, especially in locations where other manned aircraft may be operating.
Intelligent Flight Modes
The Matrice 200 series builds off of the Inspire 2 flight modes, by featuring spotlight, point of interest, tripod, and active track. These modes are made possible by two front visual sensors, a ultrasonic and visual downward positioning system and an upper infrared sensor.
New apps and Software
The Matrice 200 series can be used with the DJI GO 4 app, that can be used to control and customize the flight parameters. iPad users can also use the DJI GS Pro app to plan flight paths and mapping missions. In addition there is an all new DJI Pilot android app that is specifically designed for enterprise users. The DJI Pilot app can be used in conjunction with the DJI FlightHub which is a web-based software package that allows teams to share real-time data with other parties over the internet. In an easy-to-use control center, DJI FlightHub lets users plan flights with multiple drones and keep track of each aircraft’s status. An offsite control room can simultaneously monitor live feeds and can remotely control gimbal and camera. The software enables managers to plan flights in advance using waypoints and dynamic geofencing.
DJI Matrice 210
The DJI Matrice 210 includes all the features of the Matrice 200, however it adds the capability to have multiple gimbal configurations, support for third party sensors and accessories.
The Matrice 210 adds the capability for mounting the gimbal in three different positions; one single downward facing gimbal, dual downward-facing gimbals, or one upward-facing gimbal.
The Matrice 210 also adds additional connectivity and power ports for future support of third part accessories and sensors. Each Matrice 210 also includes a CrystalSky monitor, allowing the pilot to see in almost direct sunlight without the need for a sunshade.
DJI Matrice 210 RTK
The third and final model in the Matrice 200 series is the Matrice 210 RTK, this includes all the features of the Matrice 200 and 210, however it adds and RTK GPS module for centimeter level accuracy.
