REMOTE CONTROL MODIFICATION

Innovative UAS’s custom Inspire 2 remote control modification ensures the pilot has strong communication between the remote and the drone. Currently this setup is only available on the Inspire 2. Our remote control modification involves replacing the lower gauge antenna wiring with thicker gauge wire to prevent interference. With the use of various 2.4 GHz antennas you can now fly between object, behind bushes, and in some scenarios behind buildings and still maintain constant video connection.  

WHY OPT-IN FOR THIS MODIFICATION?

The stock antennas on the Inspire 2 are great as they sit, however there is always room for improvement. The stock wires extending from the inside of the remote control to the 2.4ghz antennas are made out of aluminum, thin, and poorly shielded. A wire that is poorly shielded causes greater interference, thus you may say dropout in video and transmission quality as you fly further or behind small objects. 

Our solution to this problem is to replace the inside antenna wires with high quality thick silver and copper cables to increase shielding, thus reducing interference. Using a silver and copper wire instead of the aluminum increases range and provides smooth video transmission signal in flight. 

The installation is seamless as we use the existing holes on the Inspire 2 remote control. Our cable runs from the inside of the remote through the existing holes. Other companies drill into the top of the remote control, thus ruining the OEM stock appearance. The install also includes SMA connectors to accept various types of 2.4GHz antennas for different applications.

You may be asking yourself why the modification costs so much opposed to competitors that charge half that for installation. 

Our installation process is a lot more rigorous for a clean seamless OEM look. We do not cut corners and drill into your remote control to create new holes for the high quality wires and SMA connectors. By using the existing holes on your remote control we install the SMA connecters in it’s place along with the high shielded copper and silver wiring. This allows the user to use various 2.4GHz antennas for different scenarios. 

Drilling holes into your remote control also places the antennas too close to each other, thus causing more interference, counterintuitive to what you want to accomplish. Performing the installation this way then requires you to purchase boosters to counteract the interference that was caused due to the installation process.  

HOW DOES THIS SERVICE WORK?

1. Start off by purchasing this product. 

   • Alternative: If you prefer to pay for the service after the installation, please open a Inspire 2 repair request by visiting this link. The repair will state a $69.00 repair cost, however this will not apply to remote control modifications. The final cost of the repair is $179.00. 

2. Once purchased, package your remote only in proper packaging to avoid damage to the remote while in transit. Ship the remote to the address below.

3. Once we receive your remote we will place it in our customization queue and your ticket information will be emailed to you. 

4. The current turnaround time for this modification is 2-4 business days upon receipt. 

ANTENNA BOOSTERS (OPTIONAL)

Boosters will assist when flying further out of range or flying in high wifi polluted areas.

VEHICLE GROUND STATION SETUP (OPTIONAL)

This vehicle ground station setup is great for individuals wanting to fly from the comforts of their vehicle, trailer, home, etc. We highly recommend using the wifi booster shown above as you will be extending the length from your remote control to the magnetic mounts that hold the antennas. The boosters ensure power is pushed from your remote to the antennas.
