GET CLOSER, SEE MORE
When using a drone for aerial photography getting closer to your subject meant flying closer, but not anymore. The all-new DJI Zenmuse Z3 is an integrated aerial zoom camera based on DJI’s Zenmuse X3 and is optimized for still photography. The camera features a 7x zoom, comprised of 3.5x optical and 2x digital lossless zoom, this gives it a focal length ranging from 22mm to 77mm, this makes it ideal for industrial applications.
Real-Time Zoom View
When using the camera with the highest resolution i.e. 4K video or 12 megapixel photos, optical zoom can be used, and the zoomed image is instantly available within the DJI Go application. when shooting in 1080P, lossless zoom allows the full 7x zoom without sacrificing the full-HD image quality.
When using a camera with zoom, any small movements are magnified, by adding an additional layer of control onto the DJI Zenmuse Z3’s yaw axis is a custom designed reaction wheel. The reaction wheel works in tandem with the normal yaw axis motor to allow for a more refined and controlled movement.
HIGH QUALITY IMAGING
Featuring the same highly refined Sony 1/2.3 inch sensor found on the DJI Inspire 1 2.0 and DJI Phantom 4, image quality is class leading. Still images can be captured at a resolution of 12 megapixels, while Adobe DNG RAW support allows for advanced image editing. Video can be captured at up to 30 frames per second in crisp 4K.
The DJI Zenmuse Z3 features the same Sony 1/2.3 inch sensor found in the Inspire 1 X3, Phantom 3 and Phantom 4 cameras. Still imaged can be captures at up to 12 megapixels and video can be captured at up to 30 frames per second in 4K resolution.
The zoom capability of the DJI Zenmuse Z3 allows users to streamline and enhance industrial and commercial use, by providing real time zoom capabilities within the DJI GO application.
The DJI Zenmuse Z3 is compatible with the DJI Inspire, Matrice 100 or Matrice 600. Once mounted the DJI Zenmuse Z3 integrated with DJI’s Lightbridge technology, this allows the user to reach up to 3.1 mile distance with HD video feedback. The aircraft can be further accelerated by using the DJI SDK to create industry specific aircraft automation protocols that maximize aircraft efficiency.
Flight times when used with a DJI Inspire 1 reach up to 19 minutes, and can even reach 30 minutes when flying a dual-battery equipped Matrice 100 and 39 minutes using the Matrice 600. Longer flight times maximize airtime, increasing the efficiency of industrial and commercial projects while providing photographers with additional time to wait for the right light, compose and capture the perfect shot.
*All flight times vary based on payload and flight conditions.
Maximum flight times are tested with maximum capacity batteries and no additional payload.
Powerful App Control
DJI’s GO application is highly integrated with the Z3’s camera system, providing both a live feed of the camera’s image as well as the primary control system for the camera. The app can be used to change camera settings, swipe to zoom in and out, capture photo or video, and activate the Intelligent Flight Modes. The remote control can be used to capture photo, video, as well as control zoom with dedicated control buttons.
3.5x optical zoom and 2x lossless digital zoom for a total focal range equivalent to 22mm to 77mm. Optical zoom and digital zoom create a combined zoom range of 7x. Lossless zoom requires a maximum recording resolution of 1080p.
The Zenmuse Z3 is designed for industry applications including equipment inspection, fire control, search and rescue and building inspection. Specific usage scenarios are as follows:
-Inspection of electrical equipment such as power lines and towers.
-Allow rescue workers in search and rescue scenarios to zoom in and identify possible survivors.
-Better inspect issues found during building inspections by zooming in on the subject.
No. The Zenmuse Z3 will be sold independently on the DJI Online Store and at DJI dealers.
The Zenmuse Z3 features a real-time 3.5x optical zoom and a 2x digital zoom for a focal range of 22mm to 77mm, an adjustable field of view and an adjustable focus point. The Zenmuse X3 is a 22mm prime lens.
Video shot at 7x zoom will be shaky. This is the result of the extended focal length, which magnifies the image, reducing the performance of stabilization systems. This shake does not affect still image capture. Still image capture is recommended when zoomed in.
Yes. Auto-focus can be used to focus on any area on the display. In auto-focus mode, tap the display to select the area of focus.
